About Us
Libby is a specialised employment lawyer, with vast knowledge, expertise and experience in her field.
Raised in Hawke’s Bay, Libby returned to the region in 2005, and after ten years working for an employment law team, decided to develop a specialist employment law and litigation firm. She set up her own practice Brown & Bates in 2015, with fellow director and university cohort Jol Bates.
Since her admission to the bar in 1999, Libby has practiced employment law in Wellington, London and Dusseldorf. She enjoys employment relations, being able to strategise with clients and addressing employment relationship issues head on. Libby is regarded for delivering effective advice and solutions across all industries and can assist with any employment related issue.
Outside work she has represented New Zealand and Hawke’s Bay in Canoe Polo, but these days is more often found escaping to the forest on her mountain bike.
